Peter is a Professor Emeritus at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, and has devoted his efforts to devising strategies to improve the quality of medical care by simplifying processes and standardizing best practices. His publications have focused on nontraditional problems in managing hypertension, improving medication compliance, and even developing a managed care curriculum for Stanford house staff.  

Peter received his B.A. in French from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He went on to receive an M.D. from Case Western Reserve University, and completed his residency in medicine at Stanford.
Peter was born and raised in New York City, but has been in California since 1977. In his spare time, he enjoys travel, photography, and ethnic cooking
